Doug Campbell

RN, BSN, CDONA/LTC, NHA

Mr. Campbell has spent most of his career in long term care. In 1984 he worked as an orderly caring for residents while he was going to nursing school at Hurley Medical Center School of Nursing. He graduated in 1988 with a diploma degree from the hospital based school of nursing and worked at the hospital for a short period of time as an R.N. staff nurse on the Medical Surgical Unit and ultimately worked up to Assistant Head Nurse on the Adult Psychiatry Unit. Missing the rewards he felt working with the elderly he returned to Long Term Care working as a Director of Nursing for 4 years at a for profit and a privately owned nursing home and ultimately returned to the 202 bed County Medical Care Facility near the thumb of Michigan where he worked as an orderly spending 24 years as the Director of Nursing and Assistant Administrator. Douglas worked for Michigan Peer Review Organization, MPRO, performing IDR/IIDR reviews for 10 plus years. He has been a Certified Director of Nursing in Long Term Care through the National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care since 1998. Douglas continued on to get his B.S.N. from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Doug has completed the CDC Infection Preventionist Training. He has served as a case review specialist and an expert witness for law firms defending nursing homes. He is licensed in Michigan as a Registered Nurse and as a Nursing Home Administrator.
